This is a complex issue and simply adjusting the lag may not result in the behavior you expect. Read this: http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/webobjects/Enterprise_Objects/ Fetching/chapter_6_section_10.html Specifically, you may have to invoke setRefreshesRefetchedObjects on the editing context in question to see the changes reflected in your EOs.
