EOF as an EJB Container?

Our J2EE/EJB architect just sent around this article: http://dev2dev.bea.com/technologies/ejb/articles/Mandava.jsp I must say, it's astounding to me that EJB is only just now supporting Container-managed relationships, Dynamic queries, automatic primary key generation, cascade delete support, optimistic locking, etc., ... and then apparently in some cases only through BEA's proprietary "add-on features to the EJB 2.0 specification".
