Howdy All, Whilst I certainly think Apple must be kicking themselves now (in hindsight) about moving EOF & WO to Java because (as others have mentioned) they would be in a fantastic position now if they had a language and frameworks that were common across servers (enterprise apps, Web apps), desktops, and phones / pdas. The reality was though, at the time, it seemed they were even thinking of moving the desktop apps to Java (at least for a short while - until they saw how slow Java was then and how much memory the VM used for each app instance). I believe they also hoped to benefit from the many Java libraries and tools (and WO now does).
