Howdy All,

Whilst I certainly think Apple must be kicking themselves now (in
hindsight) about moving EOF & WO to Java because (as others have
mentioned) they would be in a fantastic position now if they had a
language and frameworks that were common across servers (enterprise
apps, Web apps), desktops, and phones / pdas.

The reality was though, at the time, it seemed they were even thinking
of moving the desktop apps to Java (at least for a short while - until
they saw how slow Java was then and how much memory the VM used for
each app instance). I believe they also hoped to benefit from the
many Java libraries and tools (and WO now does).

Cheers,
Ashley.
