Hi, There doesn't seem to be any issues with discussing Core Data now given that they have posted such detailed information on the public developer site. I don't think that it can or will replace EOF from a Java perspective. It would make sense, however, for Xcode 2.0's modelling features to ultimately replace EOModeller... Talking to the engineers who built Core Data at last years WWDC (incidentally, mostly guys from the WO team), Core Data is much simpler than EOF and lacks the features required for operation in a multi-user environment. I think that Apple would probably prefer us to use Core Data than the not-officially-supported Cocoa-EOF environment. For example, there are no concepts of users sharing an editing context and the supported data sources are all single user. I did note something interesting in the 2005 WWDC schedule though. They are talking about implementing custom data stores for Core Data. That could get interesting...
