Thanks for all your helpful replies.

I have decided to go down the WOLips route even though I will be  
developing on OSX.  Having used Eclipse before I am reluctant to  
start learning the quirks of another IDE.  It also appears that  
Eclipse has a good sized following of WO developers, something I hope  
Apple notes.
