Re: [OT] What do you think of CMMI

If you are a medium or large outsourced development company, then  
formal CMMI level is a cool buzzword that would help you to get big  
contracts :-)

Aside from that, my opinion that from a practical standpoint an org  
should adopt processes that make sense in its own context, instead of  
blindly trying to achieve formal compliance with any given  
methodology. This goes for XP, SCRUM, CMMI, Agile, and any other such  
thing. Look at what any of those have to offer and then see what  
benefits it gives you, and adopt the bits that look attractive and  
won't double your project budget.

Then the next logical question is which parts of CMMI make sense and  
to whom. I'd also like to hear from others on their experiences in  
this area.
