System Administrator

The System Admin person will manage the day to day operations and 
administration of an enterprise computing operations in a 24x7 
environment.  Other tasks include support of test networks, corporate 
IT and testing.  This is a hands-on position.  The position is within a 
development group using agile processes.



Tasks and Priorities

*      Ensure availability and reliability of production network in 
Calgary

*      Provide 3rd level support to production networks at customer 
locations

*      Provide on-call support for problems raised by Customer Care 
group

*      Work with development team to ensure production and test 
environments are operational and properly configured

*      Support software QA group in testing of systems

*      Perform SW pushes to client sites

*      Support corporate IT infrastructure



Experience and Skills

Experience implementing and managing an enterprise 24x7 computing 
Operation including:

*      Implementing and managing an enterprise 24x7 computing operation

*      Experience with Linux, VMS, Windows System Admin, and Mac OS X

*      Experience with Apache, WebObjects, MS SQL Server 7, Sybase, 
Oracle 8, Exchange 5.5, Cisco IOS and DOS. JBoss experience a bonus.

*      Experience with i386, PowerPC and Alpha platforms.  Cisco router 
experience a bonus.

*      Performing tasks including server set up, configuration, 
installation, day-to-day operations, troubleshooting and repairing 
Windows and Linux server environment, and peripheral equipment

*      Software QA experience a plus

*      Ability to document networks and configurations
