Problem with Deployment

Hi,
We have been trying to deploy our application for several days now, but when accessed
thru the deployment URL the application is launched but the web resources are not loaded
at all.
We tried direct connect thru a specified port and everything loaded just fine.
What could be the problem? Would it have something to do with our deployment
methods?
Can anybody share to us a time-proven method of deploying on a single server? We are
using WO 5.3 on Mac OS X 10.3 Server.
