Optional To One Relationship with Propagate PK

I have a legacy system that I am dealing with, and it has the 
following:

A) Entity "A" owns "B" and the PK of "A" is also the PK of "B".  "A" 
has an optional to one relationship to "B" called "toB" with propagate 
PK checked.

B) WebObjects is automatically creating a "B" entity automatically 
when creating "A".  I am deleting the "toB" relationship on 
awakeFromInsertion.  

C) The problem is when I want to create the "B" entity, it is giving 
me a primary key generation error.

If anyone can give me some help with this I would appreciate it.
