encodings in ERXFileUtilities

Helloo- I am looking at ERXFileUtilities and I am seeing a bunch of methods that are just using the default encoding for their strings. This is just really wrong. I have gotten a bit of religion about this, having had it bite me in the posterior at work in some really old frameworks (that I did not write). I want to fix the methods in ERXFileUtilities so that they specify UTF-8. I can also put in a static ivar and methods to allow anyone to set their own without having to do it everywhere. If someone needs to specify EBCDIC or whatever, there it will be for you. Could anyone be relying on the default encoding, that it will come out on MacRoman on MacOS X and come out to something else on other platforms? I would hope not, but on the other hand, I thought I would ask.
