Hello:

I watched Kieran's talk about GIT from last years WOWODC. He has a slide
approving MacPorts to install git. Well git is already installed on my
Mac OS X (Mountain Lion) machine, but I would like to upgrade it. I am
using MacPorts todo so.

sudo port install git-core +svn+bash_completion

I get the error:

:info:configure checking whether the C compiler works... no
:info:configure configure: error: in
`/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_textproc_expat/expat/work/expat-2.1.0':
:info:configure configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
:info:configure See `config.log' for more details

 From the config.log I get:

configure:3215:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/usr/bin/llvm-gcc-4.2 -pipe
-O2 -arch x86_64 -I/opt/local/include -L/opt/local/lib -arch x86_64
conftest.c >&5
ld: library not found for -lcrt1.10.6.o
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

It can't find crt1.10.6.o, so I did the following:

export C_INCLUDE_PATH=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.7.sdk/usr/include
export LIBRARY_PATH=/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.7.sdk/usr/lib

I still get the same error. Has anyone used MacPorts with Xcode 4.5.1
installed on Mountain Lion to install/upgrade git?

Michael
