Coming back to WebObjects

Hello Wonderful list,
I left Webobjects 6 years ago and am back again after I have been 
disenchanted with what is going on out there. Now I would like to have 
Ubuntu, eclipse( the version 3.8.1 shipped with Ubuntu14.04) and maven 
play nice alongside Webobjects. I have been trying for 4 hours to no 
avail. Here are my issues:
- WOLips doesnt work with any version of eclipse which has been 
installed manually on ubuntu (The WOComponent editor cannot open) . 
Tried many different things from googling (firefox library linking, 
different versions of firefox + eclipse installed)... not working :-(

- Since I am stuck with the version of eclipse that is shipped with 
ubuntu, there is no maven plugin for that old version and I have to use 
the maven goal eclipse:eclipse to generate the classpath, and it works. 
yeah :-)

- Eclipse still cannot resolve the classpath of my maven-generated 
$M2_REPO/classes and is still showing error all over the place, which 
means that I cannot start the WOApplication. I suspect that the WOLisp 
compiler does not pick up the $M2_REPO classpath... sad. :-(

Is there anyone out there that is stuck with Ubuntu 14.04 and was able 
to have maven, wolisp and eclipse3.8.1 to work nicely? Or may be to have 
a newer version of eclipse working with wolisp without having to link to 
some firefox external library?
