Again, you are correct. This is a case of changing two things at the same time.

The real fix was ERJars high up in the class path. If I push ERJars way down the classpath, I get the same error as in the first email in the thread.

I pushed it down and retired a few times until failure. Pushing it below JavaFoundation seems to trigger the error for me with this particular app.
