Do you think that clear_pagename() is the problem?

You might also verify that save() creates a file with the same name as
special_parser.awk uses when it outputs the Edit link

I'm not actively working on it.  The fellow who wrote it stopped, too.
Feel free to do stuff with it.  

If anyone thinks awkiawki is ready for another release, put one
together and let me know.  I'll happily host the tarball on my web
site.  If someone else would rather do it, I'll be glad to link to
that site instead.

If you like the ruby language, you might try Instiki.  I run it on my
Sharp Zaurus PDA.  http://instiki.org/show/HomePage

You might also try Didi Wiki.  I used it on my Zaurus for a while.  I
suspect it needs less memory than Instiki but I don't know for sure.
