I found it easy to explain to a group of non-technical users that
"you can make a link if you use an underscore in the name". Maybe
"underscore makes wikiname" should be a config option.
Of course there may be (deeper) inter-operability issues which 
make this undesirable, I wouldn't know (am not an expert in any way).

BTW in pre-formatted text (e.g. program listings) both CamelCase
and underscores are more likely to occur "naturally" without being
intended as links. Would it be an idea to disable generating links
in pre-formatted text? This works (more or less) if in parser.awk
you just put !pre && in front of the line after #generate links.

BTW II - I still cannot manage to get my wikis indexed, although
googlebot comes around quite frequently. Both your site and Jim
Hart's manage this beautifully. I now suspect that I did not
install awkiawki correctly. Perhaps wrong setting in httpd.conf?
Should I install files in the cgi-bin directory, instead of in a
separate directory for each wiki in the document root? I'd like to
correct my user doc if it is wrong. www.jw-stumpel.nl/wiki
