I encounter this bug occasionally and it's written up here: http://moinmo.in/MoinMoinBugs/argument%20of%20type%20%27NoneType%27%20is%20not%20iterable It would be good to identify it and get rid of it for good. That would mean producing a better error for permissions problems.
