How do I troubleshoot ACLs?

I'm changing the authentication platform for a moin wiki because the current platform cannot be used after a certain date. I'm switching to LDAP authentication and it is important to stress that the actual authentication is working. However, ACLs are not working. I've created pages named after the various groups that are then used in the ACLs, but I'm getting the message "You are not allowed to view this page." Is there any debugging I can turn on to help me understand the steps that are being taken to check the user's ID against the group page? Thanks.
