WML processing and filename truncating/stripping of generated output file

Hi all,

I happy to see that the WML community
seems to be still going strong. Great!

A couple of years back in time when I
first learned how to use WML there was
one thing I never found out about how
to accomplish - despite reading the
documentation throughly. Therefore be-
fore starting to read through all the
documentation once again I'd like to
my question here on the list - there
might be a quick answer to my problem.

As I remember it, I never found a way
to truncate/strip filenames that had
been processed by WML, other than by
including specific parser options at
the beginning of each and every file
that was to be processed/parsed by WML.
Although I might be wrong about this.

What I'd like to accomplish is to, in-
stead of adding those parser options
at the beginning of every file, have
every file ending in, e.g. wml, to be
automagically renamed to whatever it's
name is but without that '.wml' suffix.
E.g.

filename.wml		-> filename
filename.html.wml	-> filename.html
filename.xhtml.wml	-> filename.xhtml
filename.shtml.wml	-> filename.shtml
filename.perl.wml	-> filename.perl
filename.php.wml	-> filename.php
filename.css.wml	-> filename.css
...

Is this possible to archive with WML as
it stands today, or do I need to modify
the source in order to accomplish this?
(I believe I'm running wml-2.0.9 today).

Thank You all in advance!

Kind Regards
