The big problem is that the ContainedProxy must inherit from zope.security.proxy.ProxyPy and zope.persistent.persistence.Persistent. Both of those classes define __slots__ so they cannot both be base classes. The only way to fix this, I think, is to change the Python implementation of the security proxy or Persistent to not have slots and only define the slots in a derived class.
