Plone 3.2/VServer: Merkwürdige Aussetzer

Hallo,

ich habe auf einen eigentlich recht starken VServer eine Plone 3.2/ZEO
Installation, die bisher ganz gut funktioniert hat, selbst ohne
vorgeschalteten Apache. Insgesamt laufen zwei Instanzen auf Zope 2.10.7.

Seit kurzen ist die Performance trotz Apache mit mod_cache und CacheFu
dermaßen in den Keller gegangen, dass die Seite fast unbrauchbar geworden
ist. Folgendes Verhalten ist zu beobachten:

Wird die Seite länger nicht aufgerufen, braucht sie bis zu 60s, um wieder
angezeigt zu werden. Dabei wird auf dem Server zwar der hohe Speicherbedarf,
aber fast keine CPU- Last angezeigt. Durch einen cronjob, der die Seite alle
5 Minuten abruft, kann das verhalten verbessert werden, aber immer wieder
kommt es zum kompletten Stillstand, und das, obwohl die Seite ja gecacht
sein müsste. 

Das große Rätsel ist, dass der Zope-Server ja nicht überlastet zu sein
scheint, wie es die fehlende CPU-Last vermuten lässt. Wenn ich die
Zope-Instanz herunter- und wieder hoch fahre, wird hohe CPU-last angezeigt,
dann läuft die Seite wieder eine Weile, bis sie wieder "einfriert".

Würde mich über Hinweise freuen, was man da machen kann. Debug-Information
