zpatterns was a little ahead of its time, before the enlightened era of 
filesystem development and forgiveness of scm.  All TTW, though I see it 
was upfront that eventually made a filesystem dataskin script.

Hence the pain. I, for one, knew very little about zope or zpatterns 
when I started working with it.

get enough beers in me or rob and chances are we will wax nostalgic 
about the BRC zpatterns->filemaker implementation that drove the first 
BRC Extranet.

The ability to transparent replace the datastore without *any* 
alteration of the actual application code was very very nice.  Unlike 
APE, you can stick what comes out of the datastore directly to where it 
is needed.  Attribute Relational Mapping, if you will.

anyhoo, thank's for the link Roché!  I just downloaded the code and plan 
to see how crazy it looks now after 3 years of plone.
