Yes. It's the same as a serializer/deserializer.

Kapil's XML work is a serializer.

Yup, it's a perfect fit for adapters. No, it's not doing anything
archetypes specific other than using the archetypes 'API' for
getters/setters.

Yes, using the marshall framework for views is one of my goals, though
it's a bit cumbersome to get such a thing working right now it should
be doable with minimal effort.
