Hmm, I would imagine the tests will be backward compatible. But for pickles and schemas I would imagine if they're not exactly compatible they're at least easily migratable. Keeping in mind that just because Archetypes 1.5 requires at least Plone 2.5 it means it won't make it in time for Plone 2.5 core (obviously -- thats Archetypes 1.4's job).
