New versions of ATContentTypes use Archetypes' annotation storage (Storage/annotation.py, annotations.py) for some fields. Annotation storage was not supported by Zope's built in history feature, making it impossible to use a number of cool features that used to be standard, like the "history" tab mixin for ATCT, and Plone's history_form (still included, but broken, in 2.1.2). For more information on this issue, see the following threads: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.web.zope.plone.archetypes.general/2480 http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.web.zope.zodb/6299 We implemented a patch to add zope history support for content types using annotation storage. It also supports the copying of an old revision to a new revision. The patch has been tested with Plone 2.1.2, Archetypes 1.0.3, and Zope 2.8.5. It should also work with other versions of Plone and Zope. The patch itself is against the current trunk svn version of History.py (Revision 40300), but it should patch other versions without trouble. This is technically a patch to Zope (not Plone or ATCT), but since it directly relates to Archetypes/ATContentTypes I figured it would be best to post here. If there is some way this could be added to the AT code instead of Zope code, that might be preferable -- but at this point it seems like the best file to patch is zope's OFS/History. The patch/ticket is available here: https://dev.plone.org/archetypes/ticket/648 Thanks in advance for any feedback/comments...
