from an integration testing perspective, many times the overhead of 
Plone is just simply a waste of time.  and as andreas said, a package 
depending on a package that depends on it is just...shitty.  deserves a 
nice sarcastic ticket.

As Archetypes evolves/decomposes, I can see certain parts of it being 
attractive outside of Plone(even maybe outside of zope and cmf).  This 
was sort of Ben's vision back when he worked on AT2.

Getting more of AT out of Plone fat belly would help it's quality 
overall(wide integration forces better decoupling, wider audience == 
more eyes, more perspectives).  Likewhise, rebuilding certain AT 
conventions using more broadly supported libraries(like z3 components) 
achieves much the same effect.
