+1 although i'd want a better name than "top" ;)

if everything should be inside a region, what would be the name of one 
of our current ids that wraps everything: #visual-portal-wrapper ?

do you want to wrap all things that use slots with a region? or do you 
want to wrap the bigger areas? because on portlets this would look 
strange unless you change the #portlet-* to #region-*.

and that reminds me, joe, have you already thought about a new portlet 
structure?
