making tabs appear selectively

I've checked out the Plone documentation on making tabs appear selectively, 
but all the cases seem to deal with generic user roles: manager, member, etc.  

Is there a way to make tabs appear for each specific user, regardless of 
roles?  So, "User A" would see a "User A" tab and "User B" would see a "User 
B" tab.
