Goin' slotless while editing / movin' the searchbox

Hey all,

So I fell in love with Plone, but like any relationship, we have our ups 
and downs. Right now we're in having a lover's quarrel, so I've come to 
you guys to help us out </silly metaphor>

OK -- here's the deal: I recently installed Epoz w/Plone2RC5. It works 
great. But, due to the fact that the site I'm working on has a fixed 
width (see earlier posts), the editor is a little cramped for space. So, 
I'd like to find a way to turn off the left and right slots ONLY while 
editing. Any ideas?

Secondly -- is there a 'best practice' to moving the search box? I've 
figured out how to do it by hacking the templates a bit, but I want my 
site to easily glide through Plone upgrades. Suggestions?
