I realize now that my email may have come across harsh. For that, I apologize. Indeed it came out of frustration of still getting no communication from marketing, even after rebootstrapping that mofo for the 2nd time this year and constantly politely asking for some communication. Sometimes and angry trolly email is what is needed to get people to communicate. For that I don't apologize. I actually feel like I know somewhat what is going on, and I feel 50% confident that the right people are in the loop (better than the previous 1%).

Thank you for taking the time to talk about these things, justify decisions, and please continue to do so. I'm terrified of this cycle we have historically seen where we stop communicating between devs and marketers, marketers and communication, and off list… oh god the cycle of off list communication! Please please please remember to keep things on list, and keep us all updated, especially about plone.org.

Thanks for everything everyone, and I appreciate all you do! I'm excited and nervous, which apparently comes across weird in email. :P

Now back to the regularly scheduled trolling…

I get the SEO thing. I'm still -1 for merging. As one of those who was chided like a child for messing with plone.org a couple years ago because it lost potential business or something that I personally didn't care/know about, I'm still butt hurt. I am with Steve in remembering the horror and arguments behind combining the two. I figure we paid a lot of money for plone.com - feels so sad to have it redirect. Emotional answer? you bet. .org and .com are traditionally separate in open source for a reason. I don't feel great about forging new pathways here. That being said, I officially hand over the battle to Ramon et al.

Love yo faces,

Liz
