So what was the decision?

I strongly suggest everyone have a look at the following site

  http://modx.com.

To me this site shows the right balance of, first and foremost,
- features
- unique selling proposition
- featured sites  
and community a very strong second. 
(you have to remove the parts about "trying it for free" however as thats obviously the commercial pitch by the CMS author. Although if on plone.org, the user was given a choice of free cloud providers this would be a nice feature of the future plone.org).

Read that site and tell me you don't want to give that CMS a go.

So like Paul I think one site, with a strong marketing message first and foremost and along with a strong message is that the community is important.


(btw, this is a different topic but I also think the "creative freedom" and cloud coding angle modx takes is similar to the USP plone should be using. Plone does this better than modx due to the ability for diazo allow design and coding to happen independently)
