... interesting - i didn't recognize portal_view_customizations until
now. is that beeing used widely?

if there are no other core dependencies on it, i see
plone.app.customerize and five.customerize as candidates to be moved out
of Plone 5 core. 

whoever needs it, can just drop a dependency on these packages in his
integration product's setup.py.

however, what's really nice is to have a overview of all registered
views at: portal_view_customizations/registrations.html and a overview
of all views used for a response with calling /@@zptviews.html on a
specific context.
