read my mail and the code and you will see that datetimes are stored in
UTC.

the problem is that the widget passes a floating datetime - local
timezone, but not timezone information applied. therefore this behavior
setter/getter magic to convert it to UTC, relative to the timezone
identifier stored as attribute on the content object.
