Sorry, I think you misunderstand me: I wrote c.tinymcetiles many years ago
to do pretty much what that video does: a pop-up in TinyMCE that gives an
"add" form for tiles and inserts placeholders (images with tile references
in a data attribute) that are then rendered in the view.

I was curious about whether it had been re-implemented, or if it was still
the same thing underneath.
