from all of the discussion i've seen in this thread there is one common feature
that all aproaches have in common. that is:

    - you click on a tile (or edit button for that tile) edit form opens up in
      a modal dialog
    - you save the dialog and refresh the tile html
    - in modal all widgets from plone should also work

now in mockup we already have all widgets (except recurrence widget)
implemented and tested. also modal is much improved from overlay code in
current code in mockup.

what is missing is some body putting all this things together and create
a "tile pattern" which enables editing tile in a modal. it's actually not that
much work and i would gladly do it, if somebody takes care of other work i have
in my todo for plone5 (for me plone5 is a priority and unfortunatly plone5 does
not include tiles/grid layout editor).

that would bring us into position where everybody can start imprementing their
grid layout manager with common code for editing tiles.

again i can give all the guidance in my free time to anybody that wants to
tackle this problem and want to see it being included in future plone. i might
not come to sorento but that doesn't mean you can not talk to me about this
before sorento via hangout/skype.
