We're working on profile pages for the new plone.org. We don't have the
cycles to get much into social networking features, but location will
certainly be included and we'll allow people to point to their other
profiles on sites that do those social things full-time.

The general idea is to let people build their identity within the
project. Showing team memberships, events attended, foundation
membership, recent commits (core and collective), mailing list posts,
community.plone.org activity, planet.plone posts, Stack Overflow
activity, etc.

There's also a local communities section on community.plone.org for
those looking to organize geographically.
