Re: IFTTT.com and the Plone API

Hello,

IFTTT means If This Then That, it is an automation tool.
It allows to trigger actions when an event occurs, actions and events are
provided by a lot of well-known services (Twitter, Gmail, Github, Facebook,
Google Calendar, etc.).
Typical use cases are:
- everytime I push something on github, it sends a tweet
- every friday afternoon, it will send me a reminder "Hey, no work
tomorrow!" on my iPhone
- etc.

An integration with Plone could allow to automatically create contents
depending on external events, or to automatically do something when a Plone
content is created (or changed or whatever).

Might be interesting, but I am not sure we can provide our own
implementation of a channel (I think we describe the API to IFTTT team, and
they plug it in their system, but I am not 100% sure)
