I agree that zapier.com is also a good one to work on, especially as you mention that it may allow us to do more ourselves up front. And having API calls that would allow a new item/post on Plone to generate a Tweet or similar syndication would be great. Another more difficult issue is to allow the workflow to trigger events in Zapier/IFTTT which would mean that authentication and binding to a "group" or "user" with certain rights needs to be considered. Allowing this would be fantastic for Intranet capabilities and would put Plone into a new strata of useful "apps." I do think that CMIS may be important for RFP requirements perhaps (like if Plone is competing with CMIS enabled CMS's), but Zapier and IFTTT would catapult individual sites into competition in the usability and mobile world. With enabling "triggers" with workflow and dexterity types which could be based on specific Plone implementations.
