Hi Nathan, I wonder if anyone really has a 4.3.x with plone.app.widgets in production and has a real investment there. We really really wanted to deploy 4.3.x pages to customers with widgets (and sometimes toolbar) and tried hard several times but finally we never did it since it never worked well enough and we did not have enough knowhow to be confident that we could fix all the remaining issues. As long as everyone else had the same experience I think you should go forward with the plan.
