Heads-up to zc.async (plone.app.async) users

Folks,

zc.async 1.5.4 depends on the 'uuid' package in its install_requires,
a throwback to Python <= 2.4 days.

This is problematic since that the latest 'uuid' package in PyPI is
(unlike the standard-library version) not thread-safe (global buffer
means UUID generation collisions that seem non-deterministic). This
was identified and fixed in the standard library in 2007 [1], but
zc.async users get to re-live the fun all over again if they happen to
depend on UUIDs for anything meaningful. I discovered this the hard
way.

I am hoping to work out some sort of solution -- this likely involves
getting zc.async on github [2], making a pull request (though I am not
ZF committer), and poking someone who can make a release.

Sean

[2] Jim Fulton indicated on IRC that he might be able to do that; my
understanding is that ZC folks don't actually use zc.async anymore due
to its (unnecessary?) complexity.
