Status of plone.app.multilingual

Hello everybody,

One of our client would like to have a multilingual Plone site.

   - We are in Plone 4.3.3. Archetypes and Dexterity content should be
   translated.
   - We use a custom workflow <https://github.com/IMIO/cpskin.workflow>.

I installed plone.app.multilingual 1.x version, set 2 languages (French and
Dutch) in Plone settings, I 'auto' generated language folders.

When I try to translate a news (after translated news folder), I have
unexpected
behavior. State of my news folder changed, PAM do not find content to be
translated next to new translated content ('Content should be here'), ...


So here are my questions.

What is the state of plone.app.multilingual ?

Should 1.x version be used in Plone 4.3.x ?

Is plone.app.multilingual usable for archetype and dexterity on same Plone
site ?

Can I use PAM 2.x on Plone 4.3.x ?


I have time to work on PAM, so where do I start ?
