hi,
As now we have been selected for GSOC'15(Congratulation to all) its a
good time to do the safe_html transformation project under GSOC which I
will anyways gonna work on. For this project we had a lot of discussion and
now I will like your view and points on the whole project summary. This
will gonna help me a lot in drafting proposal for the same.
1) In this project we are trying to create a whole new package for
safe_html which will be better than the old safe_html of the
plone.portalTransform.
2) The old safe_html has dependencies of CMFTransform which makes it less
effective and slow to use.
3) We will gonna create a new package and we will register this package and
their interface also.
4) We will also deregister the old safe_html and will register this new
one.
5) Now we will also create a filter HTML Control panel.
6) Now for creating new safe_html we basically need to re write the
scrub_HTML function for which we will use lxml or either html cleaner
package.
7) We will gonna write robot test for new transform.
8) We will also write unit test for safe_html also.
9) Documentation of the developed things. (I will also keep my blog updated
with the things I will learn new during summer)
These will be the main work for this summer and if time permits than we
will also implement it in plone core, but as of now we will work on it as a
new and separate product.
I have been going through the book "Professional plone 4" as suggested by
timo. I am learning a lot in plone and you people are really helpful for
motivating me and help me in learning these stuff. We have also started
working on a separate product name "experimental_safe_html_transform" and I
think I will be able to finish the listed things this summer (as there are
a lot of new things to learn about plone).
Your views are valuable.
Thanks,
Prakhar Joshi
