Re: EduPlone coordinating other developers?

This is the first step in my project:

The first part (administration) is fairly basic, so I'm going to have a 
go at implementing it. This is not really IMS stuff, but I think it is 
the first step in getting teachers using the intranet.

This will be mostly folders and documents repurposed to enforce a
structure for administrative documents.

The only harder part should be to integrate a messaging system like a
mailing list product so that staff can use the same system for their
messaging. I have got it designed, but I've never developed a file
system product for Plone, so I don't have a clue as to whether this is
going to be easy or hard.

Which products should I try to build on?  The collective hosts CMFMail,
CMFMessage, EmailTool, PloneMailBoxer, PloneWebMail, PortalMailTemplates
... I find this frustrating as the main attraction of Plone is a
standardised set of add-ons. It seems strange that after how many years
there is not a standard way of bringing POP mail into Zope!

Can anyone help me out here?
