Re: Looking for Universities to collaborate in a project

The University of Wales College of Medicine is very keen to pursue IMS
compliance - some of us are Welsh speaking!, but I'm afraid not French.

We're in the process of going mainstream with Zope/CMF/Plone for managing the
institution's website and online support for learning and teaching. 

Currently, we interface using Oracle connections directly to our Student
Information System (SCT Banner), but keen to do it using the Enterprise spec
for
future interoperability reasons - Banner is already Enterprise compliant.

We envisage Zope/CMF/Plone running alongside Blackboard VLE. So the Content
Packaging specs are significant. I'm unclear at the moment as to the extent it
will be possible using the CP specs to search and retrieve resources from
Blackboard using Plone - and vice versa. 

We've been toying with the idea, but never had the time, of developing some
form of Question and Test product for Plone, so have an interest in the Q and
T
spec as well.

The more leading edge Learning Design's stuff sounds really interesting, but
we
haven't considered it much.
