If the only people who need this are Gentoo and Debian guys for the

So chatting to Alan the end result is exactly the same. Take tar ball, 
untar it and we have the installer.

For the record nightly builds of the windows installer are best from 
CVS, otherwise its pointless. So I just twiddle the CVS tags.
