This is a computer scientist vs. physicist (and the rest of the world) thing that won't be settled until us old-timers are pushing up daisies (or 2038, whichever comes first). Programmers will always want to use the power-of-2 version, and nobody else will. Technically, the programmers are wrong, but then we usually are, or at least that's what we're told. ;-) RAM is still measured in the old way isn't it? 256 MB of RAM still is 256*1024*1024 bytes right?
