No, not without db4.1, which isn't available for RH9. It is available for FC1, but that has a whole other host of problems: > [[email protected] root]# rpm -Uvh db4-4.1*.rpm > warning: db4-4.1.25-14.i386.rpm: V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID > 4f2a6fd2 > error: Failed dependencies: > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) > httpd-2.0.40-21.3.6.swsoft > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) python-2.2.2-26 > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) cyrus-sasl-2.1.10-4 > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) pam-0.75-48 > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) popa3d-0.6.3-5.rh9.swsoft > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) php-4.2.2-17.2.2.swsoft > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) perl-5.8.0-88.3 > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) sendmail-8.12.8-9.90 > libdb-4.0.so is needed by (installed) db4-utils-4.0.14-20 > db4 = 4.0.14-20 is needed by (installed) db4-devel-4.0.14-20 > db4 = 4.0.14-20 is needed by (installed) db4-utils-4.0.14-20 <OT> It's times like these that make me wonder why I'm doing this and why I don't just move the whole thing to an OS X server, that doesn't give me these problems. I'd much rather spend my time working "with" my server than "on" my server. Or (to go even more OT) maybe I'm using the wrong distribution. I've been very frustrated by RedHat and Debian's method of creating little sandboxes in the versioning process, where you can move within the box, but not past it without upgrading the entire server. Surely there's a distro that would let me cascade the updates. I thought yum and apt-get for RH were supposed to fix these things. Grumble, grumble, grumble... </OT> If someone has a solution, please let me know. -- Howard Fore, [email protected]
