 Hi Alec, just downloaded the unified installer for Plone-2.5.5 and
ran the install.sh which calls configure. My system does not have c++,
only g++ (should be sufficient). But configure runs into an infinite
loop if c++ is not present. Excerpt from config.log: configure:1792:
checking for c++ configure:1821: result: no configure:1792: checking
for g++ configure:1808: found /usr/bin/g++ configure:1818: result: g++
configure:1858: checking for C++ compiler default output file name
configure:1861: g++ conftest.cc &gt;&amp;5 cc1plus: conftest: No such
file or directory cc1plus: unrecognized option '-quiet' cc1plus:
unrecognized option '-quiet' cc1plus: conftest: No such file or
directory cc1plus: unrecognized option '-quiet' cc1plus: unrecognized
option '-quiet' ... this goes on forever. After installing c++ (ubuntu
package g++) the configure script runs through like a charm. Maybe you
