Hi Jota,

At some point, Plone grew a requirement for SSL, mainly so that the mailer
would work with TLS. That may have been fixed, and I'll check on it.

Meanwhile, I can assure you that we do try and make the installers as easy
to use as possible. The big hurdle recently was not SSL, but rather the
pretty precise requirements for libxml2 and libxslt dev versions. In the
debian world, things have also been made difficult by the (botched, IMHO)
implementation of multiarch, and the fact that Python < 2.7 needed to be
patched to work with it.

Please do file bug reports when things don't work as they should, and make
them as precise as possible in regard to OS version and system
architecture. We do pay attention!
