In case you are using OS X, be sure that you are addressing the right 
"problem", as sometimes copying files via Webdav, OS X tries to copy the 
resource fork file and this fails with webdav unless the file is already 
present in Plone.

In other words:
1) make a file in Plone = Woks
2) Replace it via Webdav and OS X = Works
3) Add a file via Webdav and OS X = Doesn't Work
3) Use another webdav client ( Cyberduck )  and add a file to Plone = 
Works
