Share with anonymous users

version: Plone 4.3.3

Is there a way to share the contents of a private folder (I don't want 
the general public able to browse) to anonymous/non-logged-in users? I 
can uncheck the inherit permissions from parent box, but I don't know 
how to add permissions for anonymous users to view or download the items 
in a folder.

Examples of such use would be an images folder. I don't want the general 
public to view all contents of the folder, but the images are used in 
various pages across the site.
